As the nation turns 52, renowned Mexican bar-cafe, Chimichanga is preparing for all its guests to have a great time with food, music and most importantly, joyful people. On 8th August, starting at 6pm, you can get 2 shots of tequila for $5. $5 for 2, 52, get it? Other than that, Chimichanga will be serving two Mexican-Singaporean fusion dishes, made especially for this ceremonious occasion.
First off, there’s the Babi Ponteh Tacos, which is a traditional Peranakan dish served with a twist. Ingredients are marinated pork belly & loin stewed in a marriage of garlic, shallots & fermented yellow soy bean paste and served in soft tacos shells. $12 for 3.
Second, Hê-Bí Popcorn Chicken, which is delicious chunks of chicken deep fried and served with Chilli hê-bí (A Hokkien term for dried shrimps). This unique dish mixes a traditional Singapore flavour with a modern Singaporean favourite bar staple. $8 for one bowl.
Other than great food and drinks, guests can play beer pong all night and enjoy music played by local DJs.
